It is made up of shaved ice, red adzuki beans, sweet corn, different flavours of jelly in assorted colours, crushed peanuts, palm sugar syrup (flavoured with pandan leaf), red cordial or coloured sugar syrup and the optional chendol jellies (noodle like strips of green jelly made with rice flour)and preserved nutmeg fruit. Evaporated or sweetened condensed milk is often drizzled over the mountain of ice as well. We loved it as kids when we lived in Singapore in the 70s. Sadly my boys were less keen to try it when we moved back to Asia a couple of years ago.
